Episode 8- "Kill The Indian, Save The Man"- In this episode, I discuss the ethnocide experienced by the Lakota, and other indigenous Americans, during the "Kill The Indian, Save The Man" movement of the late 19th- early 20th centuries. I also take a closer look at the creation of boarding schools and assimilation programs and how those operated and how they adversely impacted the Indigenous Americans.
Episode 7- Justice For All- Fort Laramie Treaties & Cases- In this episode, I take a deep dive into the court cases that decided key issues between the United States and the Fort Laramie treaty and how this document is still very relevant for the justice of the Lakota people today.
Episode 6- Getting Into The Ghost Dance- In this episode, I go deep inside the Ghost Dance and talk about it and how it ultimately led to Sitting Bull's death. A general overview of the topics of this podcast is that I go deep into the Ghost Dance. The Ghost Dance originated in Nevada with a prophet named Wovoka and ultimately spread to Plains Indians and became a growing fear for many Americans. The Bureau of Indian Affairs made it against the law to do the Ghost Dance. Because it was in secret, they had to resort to secret ways and those ways cost Sitting Bull his life.
Episode 5- Independence For All- The Dull Knife Flights- In this podcast, I talk about a Cheyenne chief known as Dull Knife who led his people on a dangerous flight to their homeland in North Dakota. The Dull Knife flights exhibit extreme bravery and love for culture, as they were yearning for the homeland which is important to Native American culture, especially Lakota!
Episode 4- When The Americans Fell- In this episode, I will be going in deep in the Battle Of Little Bighorn which is when the American soldiers fell. Little Bighorn is a monumental battle for all western Native Americans, so I hope you all enjoyed learning about it.
Episode 3- Inside The Lakota Culture- In this episode, I discuss the prayers, traditions and origin of the Lakota culture and religion. I take a closer look on how the culture was created and I fully enhance the listener in the Lakota culture!
Episode 2- From Fort Laramie In 1851 To The Courts In 2020- FT. Debra Kilgore- In this episode I will be discussing the impact of the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1851 to many ongoing court cases now. Debra Kilgore will also be discussing the impact of the non compliance of the US government to honor that treaty and how that stands legally.
